It's bad enough that I've already packed on about 8 or 10 pounds, and all I can think about every waking minute is food....but now I have dreams almost every night about food! I dream of myself eating pizza, cookies, fries, cakes....anything and everything!!! What is going on in my brain?!!!! I guess the good part of dreaming about eating all that food is that it's calorie free!! (Oddly, though, last night I also dreamed that I was working out and my trainer was Jillian Michaels and she was forcing me to do push-up after push-up...yikes! Maybe I just need to stop watching Biggest Loser before I go to bed!)

Six Little Kiddie Pet-Peeves & Six Things to Love
By Sarah
6 Little Kiddie Pet-Peeves!
Here is a list of some of the silly things that bug me:
1. When kids ask “Huh?” if they can’t understand what is being said. Dad was pretty good about correcting us on this one when we were kids. Carson was about 3 years old when he started saying it and it took some nagging him on our part, but it worked. Now he’ll ask “What?”… We haven’t quite gotten the “Beg your pardon?” down yet! (Jamie's Note: Sarah, I'm with you on that one!! I have already started correcting Mya...and now she corrects Jim!)
2. Jeans or pants that are too short or rolled up on kids. This really bugs me! I always wonder why the parents don’t buy pants that fit?! Some might think it’s cute to see a little kiddo with rolled up pants or patterned socks sticking out around the ankle but I don’t. Whoever thought of that little elastic waste band adjuster inside kids’ pants- genius!!!!
3. Cartoon character t-shirts. Sponge Bob, Power Rangers, Batman, Spiderman, etc… I would buy these for Carson all the time when he was a little guy and I will probably do the same for this one on the way. I think they are soooo tacky (it’s even worse to see one on an adult), but when you hear that excited little voice scream out “Spidey, mom! I want that shirt with Spidey on it”, how could you say no?
4. Kids that need haircuts. Yes, it’s a little unfair of me to say that since I do it for a living, but when I see a little girl with bangs hanging in her eyes and a boy that, well, looks like a girl, I just wish I could pull them aside and snip away!!! When a little girl is growing out her bangs or when a boy is going for the “long hair look”, that is fine, but I can usually spot a kid whose parents are too lazy to take him/her to Cookie Cutters for a clean up or bang trim! I even give the parents that do the cuts themselves credit versus ones that don’t do a darn thing at all!
5. Spanking (hitting, smacking or swatting- SAME thing). Yes- this is an adult pet-peeve of mine!
6. Tattle tales. Since I have had one child for nearly eight years, I do not experience this regularly. It drives me absolutely crazy when I do hear this going on with other kids. I know I did it when I was a kid- sorry mom and dad- I now realize how it must have really bugged you!!!!
6 Things I just love about little ones:
1. When they laugh! There’s nothing more precious than hearing that contagious little laugh belted out from a little one.
2. When they try to make me laugh! Watching a child act totally crazy silly is so great. I think it builds their confidence and sense of humor when you encourage this!
3. Hugs and kisses. There’s no better way of showing love than this. Those little arms wrapped around me and little lips are just the best.
4. When a child tells a story. I just love hearing a little tiny voice telling or even trying to tell a story about something- anything. The little stutters or quiver in their voice when they really want you know something is priceless. Sometimes it’s hard not to finish their sentence because you know what they are trying to say- but don’t do it! Let them fumble through!
5. Hearing a child’s voice on the phone. It’s soooo sweet to hear that little voice on the other end of the phone. Everything they say is so cute- no matter what it is!
6. After a bath or shower- when his hair is all wet and he smells like soap. Awww- I just love that! I also love it when Carson “styles his hair”- it’s so funny. I wonder if he really has a look he is going for???

Red Dots
By Jamie (13 1/2 weeks)
The red dots around my eyes have disappeared! Maybe it was related to throwing up, who knows, but I'm thankful they are gone!!
My challenge now is what to wear. I absolutely dread wearing maternity clothes. They have cute stuff now days, so it's not that. But right now I'm starting to pop out, so I can barely squeeze into my regular jeans (unless I unbutton them and wear the bella band). Meanwhile, Sarah isn't even showing....and she's 2 weeks ahead of me!!! I don't want to go buy jeans a size or two larger, because then they won't fit me right in other areas. I guess it's time I just suck it up and wear the maternity jeans. At least they're comfortable!

I must be pregnant because....
......I drove through the McDonald's drive thru today and ordered an ice cream cone and an order of FRIES!!!!! When I'm not pregnant, I eat fries maybe once a month, if that...and I would NEVER eat some for an afternoon snack!!! I could lie and say that I got them for Mya and ended up eating them myself, but the truth is I got them for me, and they were soooooo delicious!!!!!!!!!

Will the Sickness Ever End??!!!
By Jamie-
I think I jinxed myself on Monday when I told the nurse at my appt that I haven't thrown up in 2 weeks. I definitely made up for it last night!!! Yesterday morning, I woke up feeling pretty good, so I (stupidly) didn't take the Rx that my doc gave me for the nausea/vomiting. Everything was going well...I walked Mya to the park after dinner, and I was able to do about 10 minutes of my Jillian Michaels DVD (which my doc okayed me to do). Then, later in the evening I felt AWFUL!! It was the worst nausea and vomiting I have ever had. Jim was at the Clippers game, but thankfully Mya was able to entertain herself with her princess dress while I rested (and watched DWTS, Idol and Biggest Loser).
I was so weak and tired...and extremely hungry since I had thrown up everything (if you have been pregnant, then you know that hunger pains are 10x worse during pregnancy than other times!!! ). When Jim got home, I took a bath, then was finally able to eat some toast and keep it down!!
This morning, I woke up and immediately took the meds! I feel okay, except for the sore throat from the vomiting and I'm sooo tired I can barely type this entry!! I was at the church a few hours this morning (I help out in the church office every Wednesday am), but maybe I can turn on Max & Ruby for Mya and get a small power nap now!
Oh....and I woke up with these little red dots all around my eyes. What are they?!!!! I think I will post a picture later. I never had them when I was pregnant with Mya. I can cover them with makeup, but I hope they don't last the whole pregnancy or get any worse!!!

What Our Kids are Saying....
By Sarah-
We were on our way to Florida and while on the plane, Carson asked me if the baby is going to be African-American. I said “no, Carson it won’t be”, and he asked “Are you sure?” I wanted to laugh so hard, but he’s a little sensitive and I wanted him to feel comfortable asking any questions. I thought he sort of knew about all that (not the sex part) about how kids look a lot like their parents, grandparents, etc. Who knows what made that pop in his head! I just explained how this baby will probably look like daddy, me, or maybe even him.
By Jamie-
Mya said her new brother or sister should be named "The Super Babies" (from Dora)!! And when we talk about the baby in my belly, she keeps asking "where is it?" and lifts up my shirt. She even pointed to my belly button and said "Oh, there's the little baby!!!"

Never Ask a Pregnant Woman....
1. Was this an "accident" or was it planned?
2. How much weight have you gained?
3. Are you having twins? (The exception to this would be if the pregnant woman is a twin herself, since somebody might really wonder if you are carrying twins since you are a twin. But otherwise, this is just another way to ask "why are you so fat?")
