Birthday Girls!!!

By Jamie

Yesterday was our 34th birthday!!  We had lunch together and exchanged gifts....we got each other clothes!!!

Mason turned 14 months yesterday!!  He was pigging out on my big birthday cookie in this pic:

So sweet: a card from Jim and one from the kids!  They also got me a fabulous purse, which I've been using for almost 2 weeks now (I picked it out and Jim said I could go ahead and use it!!).

Mason is getting more and more active, and he understands most of what we say to him.  He still doesn't say very many words, but we're working on it!!!  Since my last post, he had an ear infection, then broke out in little red bumps all over himself a week later!  Everything cleared up quickly, and he was back to normal in no time!!  Mya and Mason are playing together more these days....he follows her around, climbs up on her, pulls her hair, makes her cry...the usual sibling playing!!!  The Christmas season is such a fun time, so check our Shutterfly site for all the latest pictures!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!!!  Jesus is the reason for the season, and how grateful we are to know Him!

Mason is 13 months!!!

Oh, what a happy guy!!!  Maybe it's a good thing that we don't have any more Picky Stickies for after 12 months, because I see the end of monthly pictures in the big chair coming very soon!!!  It is just too difficult to get Mason to sit still!  I can only imagine the Christmas card photo....a total disaster, I'm sure!!!

Mason continues to be a happy, happy guy!  Every single day someone is commenting on his happiness!!  However, he is getting more destructive and exhausting!  He usually takes two naps, but his morning nap is sometimes later like 12:30 or 1:00.  It's great because that's when Mya is at school.  Then he will take another one around 3:30, which is perfect for getting things ready to make dinner. I expect this to change soon and for him to get to one nap....and he's so inconsistent so I have learned not to get used to anything!

We had a very busy Halloween season!  We had several parties and celebrations and costumes and candy! I was glad to finally put everything away in the basement!  It won't be long before I can get out all the Christmas decorations!!!! (wooohooo!!!)

Mason now has 7 teeth, which are extremely difficult to brush!!!  He walks very well and has added a couple words to his vocabulary (cracker and sissy).  He waves to everyone--strangers at the store, all of the people waiting in the lobby of Mya's preschool when we go to drop her off or pick her up.  He makes his rounds to everyone, especially kids, and goes up and waves to them!  I think Mya contributes to his friendliness....we know she is far from shy!!

Lots of love to our Mister!

We are so happy that you came into this world baby girl!  You have given us so many moments of happiness and we love you so much.  Every day, I can't wait to pick you up from La Petite or get you out of your crib.  I can't wait to hear your laugh and follow me around like a little kitty cat!  You and Carson are the best stress-relief that God could have given us!!!!

Mason is 1 year old!!!!

By Jamie
Wow, I can't believe it has already been a year!!!  Mason James was born 8 lbs, 19 inches long...and I enjoyed every moment that I held him peacefully in my arms, not knowing that in a matter of months, a major change would be coming!  He would turn our house upside down, knock down lamps, computers, chairs, wear a size 6 1/2 shoe and be a whopping 28 pounds at his 12-month appt!!!! He started walking shortly after my last entry when he was 11 months, and he hasn't stopped since!!!

But, what a happy guy!!!  I can't even count how many strangers have stopped us when we're out and about to tell me how happy he is! Now, of course he has his many moments where he cries and screams (and he has the loudest, ear-ringing scream I have ever heard from a baby!), but he really is a happy guy!

So, as I look back on the last year, I am thankful for our blessings and all that God has done for our family.  Mason will be moving out of the baby nursery at church and in with the toddlers now.  It won't be long before we hear him singing The B-I-B-L-E right along with Mya!  He will have teachers at church, at preschool, at elementary school, etc. over the next several years...but, I pray that God gives Jim and me the wisdom (and patience!) every step of the way as his parents when we teach him too!

Happy birthday, Mason!!
Lots of love from Mommy, Daddy and Sissy
