11 days....

By Sarah

I had my appt with Dr Chan today, and I am 3 cm dilated!!!  We scheduled my induction for Monday, October 11th at 5am (unless of course I go into labor on my own!)!!!  It's almost time to meet baby Reese!!!

You Know You're 9 Months Pregnant When.....

You know you’re 9 months pregnant when you….

1. Feel 300 lbs heavier than you are, compliments of your swollen feet.
2. Can fit only one person in your queen size bed because of the mounds of pillows that cover it.
3. Think (and hope) every little pain might be a contraction.
4. Drop something on the kitchen floor and stare at it thinking, Do I really need that?
5. Call your husband and he picks up on the first ring.
6. Decide that you're in the mood for sex, but it's just not worth the energy! Jamie: Um, sorry…this one has not applied to me! But oddly I’ve been in the mood to clean out the fridge & cabinets, organize drawers, steam clean the carpet, re-arrange the living room, and windex every inch of glass in our house!!!
7. Have to find the bathroom in a store before you start shopping.
8. Can't see to shave your "bikini" area anymore, but try to anyway.
9. It takes you longer to put on your own shoes and coat than those of your kid(s)
10. Wear the same few maternity clothing articles as much as possible because they fit the best and nothing else is quite as comfortable.
11. Worry not about a painful birth, but not being able to eat all day while in labor/surgery/recovery!
12. For every 30 minutes of cleaning you do, you need 30 minutes of rest
13. Every time you stand up you hope your water will break
14. Your house has never been so clean, but you still think there's so much to do before baby arrives!
15. You actually consider ingesting castor oil to bring on baby
16. When you're completely and openly humorless about people telling you that you must be having a BIG baby!
17. When you use only paper plates and plastic utensils so you don’t have to bend over to put dishes in the dishwasher
18. When you’re eating dinner, you have to lift up the plate or bowl to your mouth to eat anything out of it because you can’t bend over towards the table
19. You don’t care that you’re “not supposed” to drink caffeine, diet coke, or eat lunch meat….you eat and drink whatever the heck you want!!
20. Send your 3 year-old up and down the stairs for you when you’ve forgotten something because it feels like climbing Mt Everest if you have to do it again yourself!

Middle name… finally!

By Sarah - 38 weeks

Reese Marie Anderson
We finally decided on Reese’s middle name!

After months of contemplating, I decided that this was my only chance to pass down a family name. Using mom’s middle name seemed very appropriate and sounds adorable too. We were going to use mom’s maiden name (Rush) as a boy’s middle… we realized that didn’t fit for a girl’s middle name! I think Grandma will be happy… and Grammy would have been- after all, she and Pap did name my mom!

Baby Shower 9-26-10

Given by: Cindy Eddingfield, Kathy Shepherd and Barb Berry

What a wonderful time!

I am so fortunate to have such loving and caring people that are a part of my life at work when I do their hair and when I’m not…

I had such a blast unpacking all of the gifts!  I couldn’t be more thankful for the generosity and friendship of all the ladies who put together and attended the shower.   I tear up just thinking about it all… I can’t wait for Reese to come!!!

What Our Kids are Saying....

By Jamie

This has nothing to do with the pregnancy or baby, but I have to share what Mya said the other day.  Jim had put her to bed and I was lying in bed trying to sleep (which isn't easy these days!!!).  All of a sudden, Mya walks in my room and is whimpering.  I asked her what's wrong and she said she can't sleep in her bed.  I was expecting one of the usual excuses...I'm thirsty, I have to go potty, I'm scared, etc.  But instead she said, "I can't sleep in my bed because my PJs don't match my bed!!!!"  She continued, "My PJs are blue, but my bed is pink!"

Oh gosh, what have I created?!!!!!!!!!

What if my husband packed my hospital bag?

What if my husband packed my hospital bag?
By Sarah

Sarah: I would like to think that I am prepared for Reese’s arrival. I haven’t, however, packed my hospital bag yet. I started thinking of some different scenarios and think that under most normal circumstances I will be able to have time to pack my own hospital bag.

Well, what if I can’t? What if I have to meet Jeremy at the hospital? If I left him a list that I could prepare now, would he put the right things in the bag? How hard could it be, right? He knows me better than anyone else!

The more I thought about it, the more I worried!

Jamie: In my case, Mya would probably want to be the one to pack my bag!

Underwear:

Sarah: Would he know NOT to pack the lacy thongs?

Jamie: Lacy thongs? I own a total of 2 pairs of thongs for special occasion dresses, and they are hidden away deep in a drawer!! But, Mya would definitely pick the nice, Victoria’s Secret undies that I have (not so great with all that post-delivery bleeding!).

Robe:

Sarah: He really wouldn’t grab the see-through one with the fur and leopard print, would he?

Jamie: Mya would probably pack me her own little pink robe or my Pink Snuggie!

Bras:

Sarah: Would he know that I have purchased larger, more comfortable bras since I have been pregnant or would he grab my “red cheetah”?

Jamie: Red cheetah…what’s that?? Mya might do okay with this one, since I keep my newer “brawls” (as she calls them) hanging in my closet for easy retrieval.

PJ’s:

Sarah: Hmmm, I think the white satin ones are tucked away in the bottom of a drawer- he wouldn’t….

Jamie: Mya would ask Daddy.  Daddy would grab one of his own t-shirts and a pair of my shorts...the same thing I've been wearing to bed the last 5 months!

Casual outfit:

Sarah: He really wouldn’t grab my pre-preg jeans and polyester stretch cling shirt, would he?

Jamie: Mya would pack my pink maternity sundress.

Toiletries/Makeup:

Sarah: Bar soap? Toothbrush?- Um, where’s the BAG with my $500 worth of cosmetics in it along with my favorite hair tools and products that I use EVERY DAY?

Jamie: Mya would open my vanity drawers and empty each and every cosmetic she sees into a bag. As for hair products…she’d pack my flat iron, that’s it. I wouldn’t have deodorant, a toothbrush, toothpaste, contact solution or any of the real necessities.

***

Sarah: I really started to get a little freaked out. I know it is the hospital- certainly not a fashion event, BUT- these things are important to me! I decided after sleepless nights (not really!) that it would be best that I pack my own bag to go the hospital and in order to guarantee what I want, I should do it now.

Reese's Room:

By Jamie

Mason's room so far....a work in progress!

Update on 9.17.10
I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to hang up Mason's name letters above his crib...may leave that project for Jim!  And I have little photo frames with the invites to my shower that I still have to hang above the dresser/changing table.  All else is done....except for a little baby Mason to put in the crib!!

Baby Shower for Jamie/Mason

By Jamie - 34 weeks
On Thursday, the ladies from my church had a wonderful shower for me & Mason!  The theme was sports to coordinate with Mason's nursery (complete with yummy tailgate food & a beautiful sports cake!).  I am so thankful for the ladies at my church--for their continuous prayers, encouragement and friendship!  It was so exciting to celebrate Mason, and we were spoiled with lots of adorable little outfits for him, room accessories, and even Mya got some gifts!  Lots of love and a special thanks to Mom, Cherie, and Sarah for coming too!!!

Grandma helped Mya wrap up one of her toys for Mason!!!

Mya started preschool on Tuesday!  I got to stay with her for the first day, and it was a shortened day.  Today was her first official day where I dropped her off.
